What's New?
That everyone who thirsteth for the truth may obtain it, these publications are, as a Christian service, provided without charge. They levy but one exaction: the soul's obligation to itself to prove all things and hold fast to that which is good. The only strings attached to this free proffer are the golden strands of Eden and the crimson cords of Calvary - the ties that bind.
Benjamin L. Roden

"Jimmy Carter apparently has switched positions regarding Sunday-closing blue laws.

"...the Sunday closing blue law that was passed by the Georgia General Assembly... Carter went on record as being in favor of the measure... Carter said... the Sunday rest law should be on the books, and that he felt...(it) was a good one...

"Carter has blown hot on blue laws in the past. He's blowing cold on them today. What will his position be tomorrow?"

      – First Sunday Edict
        Constantine, 321 A.D.

Carter - Constantine or Ahasuerus – Which?

SUNDAY EDICT by Constantine. "The sun-worship cult had grown steadily in the Roman Empire for a long time. In the century which preceded Constantine's time, specific efforts had been made to give it prominence over all other systems of religion .... AIl Sunday legislation is the product of pagan Rome." – Critical History of Sunday Legislation from 321 to 1888 A.D., by Dr. A. H. Lewis.

ENGLISH SUNDAY LAW. "The act ...of Charles the direct connection which our Sunday laws have with the church and state laws of England, and through them with the ecclesiastical domination of the Dark Ages." – American State Papers, p. 571.

BILL OF RIGHTS, Amendment I – guarantees freedom of religion and separation of church and state.

CHURCH & STATE UNITY trend in U.S. "We want State and Religion, and we are going to have it...we are warned ...that it will infringe the rights of...atheists...Jews...Seventh-day Baptists....These all class.... They cannot dwell together (with Sunday-keepers) on the same continent!" – National Reform Convention, February 26, 27, 1873, Jonathan Edwards, D.D.

EMERGENCE OF SUNDAY LEGISLATION. "By the time of the late eighties, a new generation of religious zealots had arisen who were ignorant of, or refused to abide by, the ideals of religious liberty hammered out by Washington, Jefferson, and Madison, and they proceeded to introduce into Congress bills that would enforce Sunday rest." American State Papers, p. 243. " 1888...representatives of...major Protestant denominations met in Washington, D.C. and organized the American Sabbath Union...later changed to The Lord's Day Alliance...whose sole purpose is the maintenance and cultivation of the first day of the week as a time for rest, worship." – Sunday Quarterly, Jan-Mar. 1977. "This intolerant spirit has in recent years crystallized itself into an organization known as the American Sabbath Union. It is not American, nor does it uphold the Sabbath. It is the true child of paganism and seeks to establish in this republic the laws of the sun-worshipping Christian-pagan Constantine and to persecute with the ferocity of a Nero." – The Arena, No. 37, p. 121, December, 1892. "The Sunday question is coming to the front." – Critical History of Sunday Legislation from 321 to 1888, AD., p. 571, by A. H. Lewis, January 1888.

(May) "NATIONAL SUNDAY-REST BILL OF 1888. Senate Bill No. 2983, introduced in First Session of Fiftieth Congress, by Senator H. W. Blair, May 21, 1888. Bill to secure to the people the enjoyment of the first day of the week as a day of rest, and to promote its observance as a day of religious worship." – American State Papers, p. 243.

Ellen G. White warned: "Those who are making an effort to change the Constitution and secure a law enforcing Sunday observance little realize what will be the result. A crisis is just upon us." – Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 753.

(Oct.) GENERAL CONFERENCE at Minneapolis, Minn. "The Lord in His great mercy sent a most precious message to His people through Elders Waggonner and Jones." – Testimonies to Ministers, p. 91. "Then I saw another mighty angel (Rev. 18:1)...descend to the earth, to unite his voice with the third angel .... And the people of God are thus prepared to stand in the hour of temptation (Sunday-law persecution).... This message seemed to be an addition to the third message..." – Early Writings, p. 277.

Elder Jones, who appeared before Federal Committees opposing the Sunday laws, and was "recognized as the most prominent speaker for religious freedom" delivered "several lectures upon the relationship between religion and the civil Minneapolis, Minn., in October, 1888." – Civil Government and Religion, pp. 2, 3, by A. T. Jones.

(Dec.) "The Blair Bill, With Changes Desired by The American Sabbath Union (Lord's Day Alliance now). At the National Sunday-law convention held in Washington, D.C., Dec. 11-13, 1888, the original Blair Sunday bill was discussed...and...changes...proposed...(such as) ...we covet from Congress a law that shall make itself effective by small exceptions and large penalties." – Ibid., pp. 156, 158.

SUNDAY BILL DIED IN CONGRESS BY 1890. WHY? "It may be that a respite may yet be granted for God's people to awaken and to let their light shine." – Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 714. "For nearly two years, we have been urging the people to come up and accept the light (Rev. 18:1 message of Waggonner and Jones)....They do not let the Saviour in." Review and Herald. March 11, 1890. "If the people ...had gone to work ...after 1888... world warned in two years...(and) the Lord would have come." – General Conference Bulletin, 1892, E.G. White. "It is very evident that the rejection of God's special message in 1888, which resulted in the altering of His purpose to take His people directly into the promised land marked the beginning of a spiritual retreat toward the world..." – Forty Years in the Wilderness, by Elder Taylor G. Bunch.

"Inspiration declares that Tyrus was forgotten seventy years, but after seventy years she shall sing as a harlot. 'And it shall come to pass after seventy years that the Lord will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication (unite church and state) with all the kingdoms of the world..Isa. 23:17...Tyrus...the beginning (U.S. speaks as a dragon – Rev. 13:11) of this future religio-political trade system... Babylon the great. Rev. 17..." – Tyre and Zidon, pp. 3, 4.

1888 + 2 years to accept Rev. 18:1 message = 1890 + 70 years "respite" "forgotten" = 1960. Augsburg Confession, 1530 + 430 years (Eze. 4) 1960.

FIRST U.S. CATHOLIC PRESIDENT "The Protestants...will reach over the abyss to clasp hands with the Roman power..." The Great Controversy, p. 588. "All Catholics should do all in their power to cause the constitutions of States, and legislation, to be modeled on the principles of the true church." – Pope Leo XIII. "We the hierarchy of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, expect all assist the see the individuals...(of) U.S. Supreme Court shall obey the President's injunctions...Protestantism...(must) be driven from this fair land." – L'Aurora, Italian Baptist Association.

"I saw that the number (666) of the Image Beast was made up (Rev. 13:18)..." E.G. White, A Word to the Little Flock, p. 19. "Rightly, then, the United States is the 'image beast' and the President in his submission to the monarch of Vatican City, becomes the 666....Through the Presidency and Congress the Vatican has succeeded in placing its number 666 upon the two-horned beast. The United States makes herself into an 'image' of the papacy by hallowing Sunday through civil authority." – Image of the Beast, pp. 4,5.

U.S. SUPREME COURT: SUNDAY LAWS CONSTITUTIONAL. "Some now claim that Sunday legislation is not based on religious grounds. This claim is contradicted by the facts of all the centuries. Every Sunday law sprang from a religious sentiment." – Critical History of Sunday Legislation from 321 to 1888 A.D., Chapter 1.

CATHOLIC EDWARD KENNEDY (Et al) Energy Bill Public Law No. 94-163 signed by Ford, December 22, 1975. Civil penalty $5,000 and not more than $50,000 and six months prison. "National Sunday Law," stated Senator Jackson, April 7, 1975. To "preserve energy" and "establish a day of rest" Editor of Christianity Today suggests "the only way to accomplish the objective is by force of legislative fiat (decree) through the duly elected officials of the people."

"A BORN-AGAIN SOUTHERN BAPTIST deacon and Sunday school teacher may have won the White House in the recent national election, but a record number of Catholics (129)...will be...(dominating) Congress." Christianity Today, Dec. 3, 1976. It is well to note that Edward Kennedy rules Congress through the 129, and that since Watergate, Congress has more power. " silently growing into power....We shall soon see and shall feel what the purpose of the Roman element is." The Great Controversy, p. 581.

Unlike the 6,000,000 Jews of Hitler's Papacy-favored Germany (see American Freedom and Catholic Power, Chap. 11), the Bible shows victorious deliverance for the millions of Sabbathkeepers from Catholic-controlled America. The Mighty Angel of Revelation 18:1 has returned and is NOW pleading with you, dear Sabbathkeeper, to return to Israel (Isa. 2:1-4; Hos. 3:5). President Carter said, "I think it was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy to have Israel established as a nation." – Liberty, Oct-Nov., 1976. And although President Carter favored a Georgia Blue Law in 1974, he now says he is "for separation of church and state as set forth in the First Amendment" and of his 1974 stand he does not "know if there is any logical way to rationalize that." (RNS). Let us all pray yes, write, wire, and call President Carter (perchance he may be a tool in God's hand like Ahasuerus, who issued a counter-decree of deliverance to save the Jews from death – Esther 8) to help Sabbathkeepers get to Israel and be free from the Catholic-inspired Sunday law hidden in the Kennedy-Ford energy bill.
